Imajica CCG Trading Card Game: A Quick Collector’s Guide

In a way, we can thank this Imajica trading card game for this podcast.  I had flown to Texas Frightmare Weekend 2011 to see Clive Barker, and I had so much stuff to sign that I spent a long time talking with Mark Miller (then an assistant for Seraphim Films).  I showed him my iPad and we talked about the Imajica trading card games.  Since then we texted, talked on the phone, and traded Imajica cards so we could both get a complete collection.  Mark beat me, but he had a home field advantage.  So it was that day, talking to Mark, seeing how Clive couldn’t keep his head straight, he was not sleeping, writing all day and all night, stuck with his neck crooked from dozing off in a chair or under his desk, that I felt that it was time to give something back.  So the combination of seeing Clive in this state, killing himself for his fans and having a new friend in Mark Miller as a contact to help keep us informed about the all the happenings with Seraphim Films and Clive Barker, I started working on a plan for the podcast.  I spent about 6 months planning it.

But this is a collector’s guide, and I digress a little bit.  Below you’ll find a complete list of the cards, their role in the game (I’ve never played it myself), their rarity and their title.  If I were a little more knowledgeable I would put each artist’s name in here as well.

C = Common [You get lots of these from collecting.  I have a box full]

PR = Promo [The rarity of these varies.  There are lots of copies of “Clive Barker” and Emsphet Lisau” but some of the others like Lost Soul and Marios Kascarika are the rarest cards in the game, and you will pay big bucks for these if you can find them.]

U = Uncommon [less common that Rare cards, there are also some regional variations on what you are more likely to get.  Trade with people in other countries if you can.]

R = Rare [You get 1 rare card in each booster pack and starter deck, so trading is essential if you don’t want a huge box of extra common cards like me.
