On this week’s edition of Clive Barker Podcast’s Scene of the Week, I’ve picked a moment that should make all the Nightbreed fans happy!

The Tribes of the Moon Welcome You:

I love everything about this scene. The Gothic atmosphere. Danny’s Elfman’s powerful, and beautiful score that eludes to the prophetic undertones of the story. Seeing how the Breed interact together, and Doug Bradley as Lylesburg (with his own voice too!)

When I first saw this scene as a kid, what I found interesting was that I wasn’t afraid of the monsters. They were the good guys which was the whole point that Barker was trying to make. Sadly, the studio didn’t get the memo and the film wound up being edited into something that really didn’t make a lot of sense. Thankfully, his director’s cut was released and he finally got to show the world his true version of the film.
