[Updated] “Hybrid” – A Clive Barker Solo Exhibition Coming Soon

Great friend of the show and Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut Restoration Producer Russell Cherrington is curating a new Clive Barker solo exhibition in the United Kingdom called Hybrid. This is only the second solo exhibition of Barker’s work ever to be exhibited in the UK and is sure to be one that’s not to be missed! All pieces come directly from Cherrington’s own personal collection and will showcase works ranging from small ink on paper sketches, all the way to large oil on canvas paintings.

Cherrington holds one of the greatest collections of Barker’s work in the world, and I’m sure this exhibition will feature many works rarely—if ever—seen by the general public. If you live in or around the UK, now is your chance to see the immense beauty and topography of a Barker painting in person.

The exhibition will run from October 27th to November 8th 2018, and will be held at the Anvil Gallery in Derby.

Clive Barker is a polymath, he works in film, photography, poetry, theatre, literature and has been a lifelong creator of worlds and characters as an artist. ‘Hybrid’ shows off his creations from the fantastique, there are characters from his novels and films from Hellraiser and Nightbreed to Abarat.

Barker’s work has been exhibited around the world and this is only the second solo show in the United Kingdom. All works are curated by Russell Cherrington – Nightbreed The Cabal Cut and collaborator and come from his collection.

The works on display at Anvil Gallery range from ink on paper to canvas.

Clive Barker the international Filmmaker, Author and Artist work is showing his paintings and drawings at Anvil Gallery, Blacksmith Yard, Sadler Gate, Derby from Friday 26th October until 8th November 2018.

Hybrid will show of his paintings and drawings on canvas and paper, the images are characters from his novels, comics and films, such as Abarat, Hellraiser, Cabal and Saint Sinner. This is only the second solo exhibition of his works in the United Kingdom as he now lives in Hollywood. Stephen King said of Clive Barker “I have seen the future of horror his name is Clive Barker,” He has sold millions of books and his novels are full of artworks created by Barker.

The exhibition will be opened by Simon Bamford who played Butterball in Hellrasier on Friday 26th at 5pm. Hybrid has been curated by Russell Cherrington, Senior Lecturer in Film Production at University of Derby, who created Nightbreed – The Cabal Cut from Barker’s original film.
