Original Clive Barker Artwork Taking Over Greendale Academy

Our listeners who are looking forward to the upcoming Netflix original show The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be happy to know that Clive Barker has contributed over 150 paintings to grace the walls of Greendale’s bewitching academy. Barker was brought on board the production by set designer Lisa Soper to help develop the school’s dark and mysterious setting. In an interview with io9.Gizmodo, Soper had this to say about working with Clive:

“We spoke about kind of the idea and the themes behind what we were doing here and he said, ‘Why don’t you come down, spend the weekend, take a look through all the artwork and pick out what you want?’” Soper said.

She also commented on how they’ve become close friends and hopes she can get him on the show for a cameo as one of the school’s teachers. I think that’s something everyone would love to see happen.

The show’s premise is about a young woman named Sabrina Spellman who must reconcile her dual nature as a half-witch, half-mortal while fighting the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will premiere on Netflix October 26th.
