Jordan Peele’s ‘Candyman’ Finds Its Star (EXCLUSIVE)
I’m really surprised that they aren’t getting Tony Todd back for this, but at the same time I can see the reasoning behind it. This is a fresh take on the material, and sometimes you have to trust what the filmmakers are trying to do. I hope they’re making the right decision.
But for my money Tony is the only person that can pull off both the tragic and terrifying qualities that are so important in bringing that character to life. I’ll admit I’ve never seen any of Abdul-Mateen’s work, so I really don’t know what to expect. I’ll give him a fair chance, but Todd will always be the Candyman in my eyes.
I’m sure this is going to get some mixed reactions from the fans, so let us know what you think in the comments section below.
