Tony Todd to be in the New Candyman Movie After all
Way back in December we reported that there was a Candyman movie in the works, headed by Jordan Peele’s production team, directed by Nia DaCosta. Whether a spiritual sequel, reboot, reimagining, whatever it is, it’s and then later we heard that Tony Todd would not be in it. Now, it seems that Tony Todd will be in it, but according to an interview at Nickel City Comic Con in New York, it seems to not be the title role, but something else. Maybe a cameo, a side character, or something for the fans. They are keeping it pretty close to the vest, which is fine with me. Even though we report these stories, I’m looking forward to getting surprised, just like all the other fans.
Out of the blue I got a phone call from Jordan Peele. We’re still waiting for the contract, but the way he explained it to me was that it’s gonna be applause-worthy moments. That’s his words. No matter what happens with that, it’s gonna just put renewed attention on the original.
Tony Todd.

Edit: Tony Todd on Twitter is walking back this information via Twitter.
News of my affirmation about new #Candyman is a bit premature. misquoted. I had a conversation while shooting in #southafrica
