Clive Barker’s Books of Blood – Artwork by Sam Shearon…
Sam Shearon (a.k.a. Mister Sam) has been kicking all kinds of ass working on the motion comics for Clive Barker’s Books of Blood. I must have watched The Book of Blood adaptation that he illustrated at least ten times. Yes, it was that fucking good! It was nasty, erotic, and gross. Everything you’d expect from a Clive Barker story and more. There were also a lot of cool Easter eggs thrown in for the hardcore fans which I thought was a cool touch.
This month will see the release of The Midnight Meat Train which is in my top five favorite Books of Blood stories. Just to let fans know Mister Sam promises that Mahogany will look just like he’s been described in the short story including mustache and slick back thinning hair. They are staying as faithful to the text as possible which makes me very happy.
But have any of you seen the awesome banners he’s been posting on Facebook to advertise the motion comics? It’s by far some of the best art I’ve come across in a long time. And that’s saying something because a lot of the comic art now days doesn’t really do anything for me. Check out some of the banners below:
